Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia

This is a condition during pregnancy with dangerously high blood pressure and protein spilling into the urine. This can be life threatening to both the mother and the baby. There are methods that can be utilized to help prevent this, but if it does occur it is not uncommon for mom to be ordered on bed-rest. Swelling is also common in the hands and feet. Symptoms can be: abdominal pain, headaches, nausea or vomiting, decreased urination, and dizziness.
