Basos (Basophils): are a type of white blood cell that help your body respond to allergies and inflammation. They release chemicals like histamine that are part of the immune system’s reaction to irritants or infections. Normal basophil levels indicate your immune system is functioning properly. High basophils (basophilia) may occur with allergic reactions, chronic inflammation, or certain blood disorders. Low basophils are usually not a concern.
