We want to share an important reminder with all of our patients: please check with our office before scheduling any imaging through outside providers, especially if you have a high insurance deductible.
Please note if imaging is needed for our Veterans, we will submit a request directly to the VA for no out of pocket expense.
Our practice has partnered with RadiologyAssist to offer patients access to dramatically reduced rates for imaging studies such as MRIs, CT scans, and X-rays. These are the exact same tests you would receive at a hospital or imaging center, but at a fraction of the cost when paid directly at the cash rate.
Recently, one of our patients shared their experience:
- The local hospital quoted them $5,000 for a simple, site-specific MRI (with and without contrast).
- Insurance was only going to cover $1,000 of that cost.
- That meant the patient would have been left with a $4,000 out-of-pocket bill.
Instead, through our channels with RadiologyAssist, this patient was able to receive the exact same MRI for only $400 cash utilizing an HSA Account.
That is a savings of $3,600 — for the same test, same quality, and same results.
Always Ask for a Good Faith Estimate
Before agreeing to any imaging or medical procedure, it is your right to request a Good Faith Estimate of your out-of-pocket expense. Don’t assume your insurance will protect you from surprise bills. Too often, patients are left holding the bag for thousands of dollars they didn’t expect.
