Allergies and Immune Response

We experience uncomfortable allergy symptoms when the body has an immunological response to external factors.  Allergies can be triggered by food, chemicals, animals, and substances we encounter in our environment.

Immune System Response

Allergy sufferers experience reactions from the immune system and intestinal tract to include: excessive sneezing, watery eyes, congestion, itching, hay fever, fatigue and rash.

Allergies are not as simple as just being ‘allergic’ to something like pollen or pet dander. There is much more going on inside the body. The health of ones’ intestinal tract is very significant when it comes to immune health. Modern science has shown us that a bulk of our immune system resides in the gut and unfortunately, a typical American diet suppresses immunity and often creates an environment for disease to flourish. When the intestinal tract isn’t happy the immune system isn’t going to be happy either.

Immune Support

During consultation with a client, we will not only discuss the root cause of the immune response, but we will also do our best to alleviate the irritating symptoms in the short term to provide maximize relief.

Boosting the immune system and relieving inflammation are the primary tactics used to address allergy symptoms.  However, allergy sufferers should not wait until they begin sneezing or battling congestion to act. The best way to keep annoying allergy symptoms at bay is by proactively improving immune health. Keeping your immune system primed is key.  Additionally, minimizing exposure to toxic elements is essential.

Holistic Allergy Testing

After consultation, we may recommend one or more of the following diagnostics in order to most effectively treat your allergy symptoms.

Food Sensitivity Testing:

This test looks at your body’s immunological responses to environmental, food, chemicals, dyes, candida, gut health and more. Sometimes one needs to be addressed over others. Dr. Skip will discuss the testing options during the consultation to consider all facets of the case and order testing accordingly.

Functional Endocrinology Testing (Blood) & Hormone Balancing (Saliva) Analysis:

We highly recommend our exhaustive analysis of blood and saliva to address any underlying health issues affecting your immune system.  The values Dr. Skip assesses are rarely the same as your Gynecologist, Reproductive Endocrinologist or Primary Care Physician due to the uniqueness of his mastery training in ‘functional medicine and functional endocrinology’.

Salivary hormone testing evaluates five essential hormones found in the body to determine if there is an imbalance.  An excess or deficiency in any of these important hormones can have a significant impact on your overall health and well-being.

The functional endocrinology blood testing examines the function of the endocrine system which affects all organs in the body. Through our full analysis of all of the systems in the body, an individualized health protocol will be provided to address all factors contributing to your overall health.

Nutrition:

Because the immune system is so heavily impacted by the health of the digestive system, an evaluation of nutritional health is very important.  Dr. Skip can answer your questions about eating for optimal health and make recommendations for how to improve your immune health through better nutrition.  As always, it is best to eat real food and nothing from a package. Include plenty of fruits and vegetables and decrease carbohydrates such as breads and pasta. Drink plenty of water and make sure you are having adequate bowel movements each and every day. If you do NOT have at least one bowel movement per day you are constipated. We will review more in detail during your consult and if necessary, Dr. Skip may recommend additional therapy for the digestive system such as an intestinal cleanse or gut repair protocol.

Holistic Allergy Treatment

The first step in treating allergy problems will be to address any problems or imbalances discovered in the salivary hormone, functional endocrinology and food sensitivity testing.  These issues are standing in the way of your body being in natural balance, or the state of homeostasis.  Having good nutritional health is also part of achieving this goal.  When any imbalances or concerns are resolved, boosting your immune system is the next steps towards tackling troubling allergy symptoms.

Our office provides immune boosting treatments for localized issues.  Oxidative Medicine is also an excellent way to boost the immune system thereby preventing allergy symptoms from occurring.

Oxidative Medicine can include Ozone, Oxygen, Ultra-Violet Blood Irradiation (UVB) or Hydrogen Peroxide therapies.  ‘Medical studies of Medical O3 use are proven, consistent, safe and with minimal and preventable side effects and are effective at inactivation of bacteria, viruses, fungi, yeast and protozoa, stimulation of oxygen metabolism, and activation of the immune system’. Dietary antioxidants or free radical scavengers like vitamin E, C, etc., can prevent any side effects and are administered to patients during treatment.  (PubMed study on Ozone efficacy).

Our Immunity Boost Treatment through Oxidative Medicine includes:

  • Ozone Insufflation: administered via the ear or rectum, depending on symptoms. (10 min.) (See below for more information)
  • UVB Sub-lingual therapy (30 min.) (See below for more information)
  • Nebulizer Treatment consisting of Magnesium, Iodine, Glutathione, Hydrogen Peroxide and/or Colloidal Silver depending on symptoms (20 min.)
  • Single dose of high potency Liposomal Vitamin C(High dose Vitamin C can also be considered a form of Oxidative Medicine)
  • Single dose of high potency Vitamin D3
  • Single dose of TCM Longevity Formula for Immune Boosting
  • Ear Acupuncture aka Auricular Therapy administered via ear seeds for continued immune boosting post treatment
  • Immunity Protocol & Discharge Instructions provided for continued care at-home
  • Immunity Diet Plan for at-home use during the duration of the illness

Please note: Due to the time needed to administer the treatment, you will need a full 60 minutes, so please make sure to allow sufficient time.

*TCM Rx’s, Ozone Water, Supplements and Lab Work (functional and hormone) costs are additional and prescribed based on need.

Need Pain Relief? Should you also be experiencing the cold or flu body aches, please consider also booking a Pain Relief treatment session in conjunction with the Immunity Treatment so that we can also work on your lymphatic system to increase immunological boosting effectiveness and pain relief.

What is Ear Insufflation? The patient restfully sits in a chair while Ozone (O3) gas is gently administered in the ears for few minutes.  Mild discomfort from the fumes is sometimes experienced; with the use of a fan in the room this is merely a passing nuisance.

What is Rectal Insufflation? The patient restfully lies on a treatment table while Ozone gas (O3) is administered rectally for a few minutes.  There may be some mild discomfort or a feeling of fullness in the cavity.  The patient will be directed to keep the Ozone gas inside the rectal cavity for absorption into the blood stream.  This method has been shown to very effective and less invasive then intravenous administration. Do not let rectal scare you away. The insertion of the tiny tube is painless.

What is UVB Therapy? This is an oxidative therapy applied with a UVB light held gently and non-invasively under the tongue which eradicates immunological pathogens. The treatment time allows us to cycle through your entire blood volume twice. This is the same technology used to sterilize surgical suites, hotel rooms and more.
