Cancer, HIV, Hepatitis, Chronic Fatigue?

Tuesday, May 11th, 2010

If you or someone you know has Cancer, HIV, Hepatitis, Chronic Fatigue or Multiple Sclerosis please see this website about Low Dose Naltrexone. I have recommended LDN therapy with my patients and I, as well as the patients, have been extremly impressed with the results. Now please understand that this medication is used as part of a complete protocol and not as a stand-alone treatment in my practice. Anything that can be done to help stimulate the immune system in my opinion is definitely worth a deeper look.

Naltrexone itself was approved by the FDA in 1984 in a 50mg dose for the purpose of helping heroin or opium addicts, by blocking the effect of such drugs. By blocking opioid receptors, naltrexone also blocks the reception of the opioid hormones that our brain and adrenal glands produce: beta-endorphin and metenkephalin. Many body tissues have receptors for these endorphins and enkephalins, including virtually every cell of the body’s immune system.

In 1985, Bernard Bihari, MD, a physician with a clinical practice in New York City, discovered the effects of a much smaller dose of naltrexone (approximately 3mg once a day) on the body’s immune system. He found that this low dose, taken at bedtime, was able to enhance a patient’s response to infection by HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. [Note: Subsequently, the optimal adult dosage of LDN has been found to be 4.5mg.]

In the mid-1990′s, Dr. Bihari found that patients in his practice with cancer (such as lymphoma or pancreatic cancer) could benefit, in some cases dramatically, from LDN. In addition, people who had an autoimmune disease (such as lupus) often showed prompt control of disease activity while taking LDN.

Detoxification of Liver, Kidney and Bladder?

Monday, May 4th, 2009

No way…it can’t be! There is nothing available that will do all those things safely and effectivly. You guys are starting to get to know me by now and I am all about the detoxification of the organs of elimination.

 [singlepic=19,320,240,,left]

I advocate sweating, lymphatic drainge, massage, colon cleanse, liver cleanse, etc.  There are so many methods that should be employed to keep us healthy.  While these things are beneficial  if you are sick, it is so much more helpful to your body if you do them while you are healthy.  This will also assist in keeping your immune system in tip-top shape.

There is a product called Royal Breakstone that I have used for many years both personally and with my patients that is very effective for cleansing the liver, kidney and bladder.  It is a highly effective option for those of you who don’t want to or can’t do an actual liver flush.

Alcohol-free Chanca Piedra liquid extract, contains vegetable glycerin.  Each milliliter (ml) contains 1 gram of the extract of dried leaf.

Traditionally uses now supported by scientific research:

Promote healthy liver function
Promote a healthy gall bladder
Support good digestion of fats
Promotes healthy digestion
Promote healthy kidney function

Chanca Piedra are spanish words, “chanca” meaning “to break” in and “piedra” meaning “stone”.  It is the name given to several different varities of small shrub-like plants in the Phyllanthus genus family.

These species of botanicals have been proven in scientific research to have antihepatotoxic, antispasmodic, antiviral, bactericidal, febrifugal, and hypoglycemic activity.

Some Traditional Uses

Chanca Piedra got its name because according the herbal tradition of Peru, where knowledge of rainforest remedies spread to the Incas, it was used to break up and expel kidney stones as well as gall stones.

It has been used to assist with the stimulation of bile and to promote healthy functioning of the liver and gall bladder.

It has also been used traditionally to help clear obstructions within the internal organs of the body by promoting the elimination of mucous as well as the elimination of the stones.

In areas throughout South America, Chanca Piedra is used to treat a wide aray of medical issues…such as, edema and excess uric acid, flu, colds and constipation, prostate issues, increase menstrual flow, ulcers, expell worms from body, irritable bowel and poor circulation. Just to name a few :-)

This is a great product that I routinely put folks on because it is so effective at what it does, especially in conjunction with an entire wellness protocol.  If you have any questions about this product or its uses please don’t hesitate to AskDrSkip.
